Supported through funding from Aspers Good Causes Fund, provides opportunities for the development of skills of London Borough of Newham young people and their parents.

IROKO Bright Stars Project provides children, young people and their parents with stimulating and engaging opportunities to acquire and develop a wide range of valuable skills. Activities include creative workshops in oral storytelling, drama, music, poetry, dance, plus visits to museums.

Training

The project will recruit and train 10 parents/volunteers/trainees and use oral storytelling performance techniques to enhance their confidence and expressiveness. Successful participants will each receive a National Open College Network (NOCN) accredited certificate in ‘IROKO Theatre of The Everyday’.

Showcase

End of Project performance will enable participants to showcase skills and talents gained and or acquired throughout the project.
